Last weekend was very enriching. I taught my first Cluster Creations workshop. The focus was group and movement based. We experimented with creating literal clusters of bodies around the pole or patterns by carrying and catching people in between two poles. It already provided me with zillions of new ideas, but most importantly, it made something I’ve been visualizing and trying to sketch on paper for the past year finally a reality.
Saturday eve Lenny took me out for dinner, a Moroccan restaurant in town we hadn’t tried yet, it was really tasty. We were very happy.
On Sunday we performed Beyond the Edge, only eight more shows left until this journey sadly comes to an end. It feels so surreal since we all have grown so much and gone through such life changes in the past two years. We’re hugging each other a little bit harder each time we say hi, or goodbye. Also the reason why I’m listening to Providence by Godspeed You! Black Emperor on repeat, it’s song we used to rehearse to for scene from Beyond the Edge.
Currently reading Virginia Woolf’s two essays; A Room of One’s Own and Three Guineas. What is especially absurd is that she was writing these thoughts, arguments, frustrations and wishes a 100 years ago, and she’s reflecting on women and women’s fiction of a 100 years ago for her at the time of writing. As I was reading it I couldn’t help but answer her questions as if she could listen to someone from the future tell her if things did or didn’t change. She’s a phenomenal woman to say the least.
Next week I’ll be in Austria, a week of calmness before a very busy and intense March full of rehearsals for Beyond.
